About the author

I am the author of more than ten novels. I was born and raised in Virginia, where I currently reside. I was First-Place Winner of the Hollins Literary Festival a number of years ago. Among the judges were Thomas (Little Big Man) Berger and R.M.W. Dillard, poet and husband of the writer Annie Dillard. Along with my wife, I have rescued and maintained 22 stray cats, which should tell you something about me (good and bad). Permanently addicted to writing, I am currently at work on "Backside", the sixth in the series of Ari Ciminon (The 56th Man) novels.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2014finished The Godless One (An Ari Ciminon Novel) by J. Clayton Rogers & gave it 5 stars
This is the second, & I hope not the last, novel w/ Ari. First being "The 56th Man", which was excellent. I hadn't any idea a second novel would be written, there aren't any cliffhangers. This book is action filled, with great dialog, laugh out loud parts, real characters, touching, and will stay with you. The ending is perfect. Just perfect, and I was deeply moved, shed a tear or two.
How often does that happen?
I hope J. Clayton Rogers is given recognition for his work. This ought to be on the Best Seller list. Wonderful Author. Well done.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2013This had better be one more in a long series of Ari Ciminon books. Likely I will have to wait because a book like this cannot be written quickly I'm sure. There is a beautiful complexity in the unfolding of the story as well as the characters. Perfection in the details that bring the characters to life will keep me coming back to this author. I'm actually shocked to be so entertained, no, enchanted, by a book with such raw emotion. Come back Ari! I'll be waiting for you.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 24, 2016I read the first book and was so intrigued by Ari I bought the second..It is eye opening g to see ourselves through another person's eyes..As for Ari I like him and then I don't like him and t when I change my mind again..the plots are a little convoluted but getting in Ari's head is worth it..Going to buy book 3.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 14, 2014The author has given us a most unusual protagonist in Ari. He adds a bit of excitement and amusement in the books that causes chuckles while enjoying the interactions with America and the political system here. You should enjoy both books equally. They are great, I hope there is a third book.
