Chasing Rabbits (The Underground Book 1) Kindle Edition
Alice was wrong – Wonderland wasn’t so wonderful after all.
Kat never expected to be back in her hometown, but when house sitting turns into a mad rabbit chase, Kat finds herself with a whole new set of problems.
A two headed bird with a Game of Thrones obsession, a party full of tea addicts, and a Cheshire Cat who could seduce the pants off her grandma? And if the citizens weren’t bad enough their prince was off his rocker.
This wasn’t your run of the mill Wonderland. This was the Fae world, where rules are rules, and some things are exactly as they seem.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 11, 2021If you are a fan of reimaginings of any type, but especially if you are a fan of Alice, you will not be disappointed! These books had me hook, line and sinker! Bedford's tale of "Wonderland" is great story with thoughtful and comprehensive world and character building. Action packed and fast paced, I never felt the stories lag or lost interest. Kat is compelling and relatable and her friends are and loyal and loveable (and the boys are especially yummy...) making for great interactions and dialogue. In short absolute must reads!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2019Going into this book, I was hesitant because I read some reviews and had mixed feelings from the get go. That being said, it was a good read. I finished it in a day and wasn’t bored at any part throughout the book. It’s fast paced and a lot happens, especially with that ending, but you stay interested with what could possibly happen next. That being said, the plot seemed good in theory but it was difficult at certain points to follow and understand what was happening. Some of the situations she finds herself in don’t necessarily seem relevant to the plot, more so just to showcase the world she’s in. Well written, but the delivery of certain plot points could be better. The heroine was easy to like, but seemed like your typical run of the mill heroine. All that being said, I bought the second book in the series. At the end of the day, it IS a good read and very easy to pass the time with.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2020Change happens all the time, some for good, some less so. Ever Wonderland changes, as our heroine soon finds out. And definitely not all for the good.
This is a fantasy story which revisits the classic Wonderland setting, not a retelling of the original story. Some of the setting and characters may see familiar, but they have changed over time and our heroine has her work cut out for her if she wants to make it home again. The story is well written, easy to read and very engaging. I found myself drawn into the story from early on and had a hard time putting it down. The contrast between what you think you know from the original story versus the current story can be a bit jarring at times, but it also makes it all that more fun. Overall, I really enjoyed this story and look forward to the next book in the series.
Highly recommended.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2017I liked this book, but I'm a little undecided about exactly how much. It was an interesting and creative World, being a Fae version of Alice's Wonderland. It had clever adaptations of the Wonderland characters. It was a decent length for the first book in a series. The dialogue was easy and read naturally.
There were, though, several things that didn't do it for me. I wasn't (and still am not) fond of the Heroine. I wanted to like her, but it's as if the Author deliberately made her difficult to like. I also did not like the "Shadows"--they just seem lame as Bad Guys. The plot was choppy, with a lack of clear progression at some points (at least for me). The attempted rape scene felt useless to the plot, so I'm still not sure why that was thrown in.
I'm on the fence about going on to the second book, but this was still a decent read for me. 3-1/4 Stars.

I loved the characters.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2019I had previously read The Crimes of Alice and Chasing Hearts (yes, I know, out of order), and was intrigued by the twist on Alice in Wonderland. Erin Bedford has a fun way of spinning the tale and adding a whole new level of intrigue and danger to the story. In this book you've got Kat who finds herself chasing after a rabbit that is not in fact a rabbit, entering the world she read so much about in Alice in Wonderland. Things are quite different than what she expected and finds herself under near-constant threat from strange creatures and magical beings. There is something different about her that others notice that she doesn't understand... only time will tell. I'm definitely looking forward to continuing on with this series to see what happens next for Kat, Alice and the other characters of the Underground.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2016This is not your normal Alice in Wonderland. It really isn't even Alice in Wonderland lol, more like Kat in Wonderland. I love how this book is so much different than the normal story line. It's so much more than the original. It's dark an sinister and yet at the same time its hauntingly beautiful. There are so many questions that are opened and not nearly enough answered fast enough, but at least you won't be alone in this feeling. The main character (Kat) is even frustrated with not enough answers. Even though I say its frustrating and everything else this is actually a really great read and just drags you into it because of how it slowly gives you information and how the whole story is sexy in a dark way. The entire time I was reading this i kept asking what is going to happen next and couldn't wait to turn the page and find more.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2024Whether he is just a cat or a sexy fae breaking all the rules and getting on everyone's nerves. Interested in the next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Review onErin Bedford's Chasing Rabbits
This book is great, I couldn't put it down - it is a new take with a great twist on an old fairytale 'Alice In Wonderland'. And by a new take I mean Alice is hardly mentioned, slightly more towards the end but the book doesn't revolve around Alice; instead this story is about Kat a librarian who reluctantly returns to her home town, of which she couldn't get out of quick enough when picking a college but after continually hearing voices saying "come home", she gives in and heads home taking a job at the local library and moves into her grandma's house whilst she has gone off to sunnier places. Kat also revives the garden, which includes a vegetable patch and gets rather annoyed at a pesky rabbit who keeps stealing her carrots, she does all she can to stop the rabbit as well as traps but nothing seems to stop it, then one night she sees it and chases it - it disappears in a cave that her and her sister used to play in when small - and like Alice Kat gets sucked down the rabbit hole. And it all goes on from there, I could tell you more but I hate when reviews tell too much and spoil the story, so I will leave you to read it for yourselves and it is definitely well worth a read - tonight I get to review part two chasing Cats and I can't wait:-)

A nice unexpected twist to the original story. Very refreshing!!! I can't wait to read the second book. I'd say to everyone who is in love with the classic story to give it a go.

Intertwined with Alice in Wonderland this is an interesting book with surprises all the way along. The ending leaves you wanting to read the next in the series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely Version of Wonderland
Wonderland has never been this intriguing and interesting. Mixing the world of Alice with the world of Fae and their complicated politics is one of the best ideas I ever came across. This Wonderland is magical, dangerous, weird, dark, crazy and a lot more. Our leading Lady, Kat, is on top of that a great character and easy to identify with. Combine all of this with a little mystery and you have the perfect start for a series.
