I liked this series, so got all the books and read them one after the other. Wanda is the main protagonist, a young detective witch.
One main problem gets solved in each book, characters with interesting names turn up and the books end with the possibility of a new quest in the future. In this books, trouble seems to strike celebrities.

Witches are not permitted to investigate crimes to non-witches, that is the domain of the thuggish Peacemakers, according to the Minister of Magic Law, Justine Plimpton. We already know that she hates Wanda.

A beautiful werewolf celebrity, Saskia Monroe, is poisoned while eating chocolates made by a young witch and a famous werewolf rockstar also goes missing. Holly Golly, a famous witch singer, then gets poisoned and her familiar, a parrot called Molly Golly, contacts Wanda for help. Finn Plimpton, the new captain of the Peacemakers, and Wanda and the other witches can now collaborate, but Justine is still trying to get rid of Wanda.

I enjoyed this story. The plot and characters are good. Wanda deals with a murder, corrupt non-witch cops, a hateful teacher, and searches for a missing werewolf. There is humor and surprises. I will be reading the rest of this series.

While Wanda works on passing the classes she needs to work in the family business she runs into several mysteries that at first don' appear to but Wanda is sure that's where the answer lies. Finding the link to these mysteries isn't easy and things go from bad to worse before everything is done. As always, the books in this series are interesting and fun to read. This is the first book though to have several grammar issues. But it isn't too hard to figure out what she meant to write. This book focused more on solving the mysteries than the first two books in the series which worked well. I think you enjoy this book. The author gets better and better with each book. Looking forward to the next as always.

I started reading thinking this was another book in a series by the same author that I read earlier this year. I soon figured out it was a different story arc in a familiar universe.

There was enough back references that I was able to quickly get engulfed into the story and its plots. Our protagonist, Wanda, is well on her way to getting back her powers while she dives into a complicated murder mystery.

The character development is well done. It's also nice to see some variation from the expected world of witches. I particularly liked the mango eating bat as a familiar.

This is the best of the three books I have read from this author. Since I have now read all of her downloaded books, I hope never to read another. This still feels like this was written at sixth grade reading level. There are so many sentences that make no sense at all. Worst of all the most unlikable characters, get off free with no punishment.

Wanda is progressing through the exams that she must pass before being allowed to become a Wayfarer, but Justine Plimpton continues to make everything as difficult as possible. In addition we discover that Melissa has been hiding a secret which makes more difficulties for Wanda. Thank goodness for wonderful friends (or boyfriends?) providing help and support alongside Wanda's familiar, Dizzy, and familiars who seek out Wanda's help to discover who murdered their witch.
This book is every bit as good as others by this author, with brilliant characters who provide comedy in their dialogues, romance, and wonderful descriptions such as Christine's frozen visions and the 'inner map' which bring the magic to life. Once again, I couldn't out it down and I'm going straight on to the next book in the series.
