Deal Gone Dead: A Lily Sprayberry Cozy Mystery (The Lily Sprayberry Cozy Mystery Series Book 1) Kindle Edition
“Filled with sweet, Southern charm!” Amazon Reviewer
There’s a battle going on in Bramblett County, Georgia, and Realtor Lily Sprayberry is in the thick of it.
Welcome to my idyllic, small, Southern town, Bramblett County, where even the quietest Monday mornings can take a deadly turn. I never expected to find my feisty and cantankerous older client, Myrtle Redbecker, lying lifeless on her kitchen floor - and with a cast-iron skillet as the weapon, no less.
As if that wasn't bad enough, I soon realized that Myrtle's death was just the beginning of a dangerous journey. With the weight of the investigation on my shoulders and my ex-boyfriend - the local sheriff - breathing down my neck, things went quickly from bad to worse.
But Myrtle had entrusted me with a promise: to sell her property to a developer and not an individual buyer. As I began to dig into the mysterious circumstances surrounding her death, I discovered a generations-old battle over the land - and the rumored treasure buried beneath it.
Suddenly, it became clear that some people would stop at nothing to get their hands on that treasure, and I found myself in the crosshairs of a dangerous plot. If I didn't solve this mystery quickly, I could wind up just like poor Myrtle - six feet under and forgotten.
With twists and turns at every corner and a cast of quirky characters, this cozy mystery will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2023Perhaps the author should reread so that she can fix all the errors. I was surprised to find any as the previous series of her's that I read was nearly flawless.
This was a good book!

Who would not love This series
- Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2024Lily(bit) owns the only real estate business in town. Her bestie, Belle, works with her. The old woman selling her property is murdered and things go crazy. Dylan, Lily’s former boyfriend, is sheriff and things are uncomfortable, to say the least.
The story has interesting twists, too many suspects, one of whom is also murdered, and normal small town gossip.
The book is good, although I assume the Kindle edition is the reason for all the errors, and the culprit band reason for the murder is interesting.
All in all, a good read.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2023A very enjoyable book! It kept my interest from start to end. Lily is a wonderful character. I especially liked that there was no profanity or explicit sexual activity. I strongly recommend this book to everyone.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 23, 2019Loved this book! Lily is a realtor in the small town of Bramblett County, Georgia. She finds her elderly client murdered and the prime suspect seems to be the woman's nephew. When he turns up dead, now she has to figure out if there are two killers or just one. Lots of suspects, a property line dispute, and a rumor about hidden money on the property make this an intriguing mystery. I loved the town and the characters. I have to say that the identity of the killer surprised me. I look forward to reading more of this series and seeing Lily and Dylan rekindle their romance!

5.0 out of 5 stars I don't do book reviews......
I don't do book reviews like you keep seeing, as I find that some give too much of the plot away and I personally hate that, as it makes the book not worth reading. I much prefer to take the authors back cover write up as a review as it can either intrigue you enough to read the book of provide you enough information to make you decide that the book is not for you.
My review rules are: The more stars, the more I liked it.
If there are too many typos or errors the less stars I give
If the storyline or plot is poor or contains too many errors, the characters are too weak, the ending lacking something, then the less stars I give.
Simple, uncomplicated and to the point without giving anything away.
Some of the books I read have been given to me by the author as a pre-release copy and this does not bias my reviews in any way

3.0 out of 5 stars Cosy read, doesn't take much to sit with it.
Enjoyable read, not fantastic but easy read. Liked the little twist at the end, even though you could pretty much figure out what was coming. Would recommend as a light read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Quite entertaining
Very entertaining, especially the excellent dialogue between the two best friends.
There were a number of editing problems, such as misplaced or extra words, that took me out of the reading experience. But I still recommend the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great cozy mystery
I loved this book. Most of the characters are realistic and funny. Some are downright scary. But the twists and turns were great. Always kept me guessing who did it. Great story from one of my favourite authors.
