Out of My League: A Small Town Romance (Hope Valley Book 1) Kindle Edition
All Eden Brenner ever wanted was to have a place to call home. She finally found that in Hope Valley. Then she went and fell in love with the man a few houses down the first time she laid eyes on him. There was just one problem. Women like her didn’t catch the attention of men like him. He was totally and completely out of her league. And to make matters worse, when her past comes knocking, the beautiful world she’s built for herself is at risk of crumbling to the ground.
When danger forces Eden into his arms, Lincoln begins to see her in a whole new light, and he suddenly finds himself wanting things he never expected. And he wants them all with the shy, clumsy woman from down the street. But when the truth comes out, that proves nearly impossible. Now he’s fighting the hardest battle of his life, and the stakes are higher than ever. Protect the woman he’s falling for while trying to win her heart at the same time.

Jessica Prince is back with a brand spanking new series and a whole new cast of characters that is sure to knock you on your butt and leave you begging for so much more. - Renee Entress's Blog
Jessica Prince really knows how to write an amazing story and I can't wait to see what else she comes up with in this series. This story had twists that I didn't see coming and flowed perfectly into the perfect story line.- Moonlight Novels
Out Of My League was AMAZING! It was a slow build romance with some sweet moments, moments with some suspense and moments of true bliss.- Marie's Tempting Reads
I didn't think it was possible to love this authors work anymore than I already did but it looks like I was wrong, Hope Valley and it's likable residents including what's promising to be some more seriously badass alphas like the hero in this book, looks set to be in my opinion Jessica Princes's best work to date. - The Book Whisperer
Out of My League was an epic introduction to the sexy, new Hope Valley series. With a lineup of fabulous characters that I am already completely drooling over, I am hooked on the town of Hope Valley. - Nightbird Novels

About the author
Born and raised around Houston, Jessica is a self proclaimed caffeine addict, connoisseur of inexpensive wine, and the worst driver in the state of Texas. In addition to being all of these things, she’s first and foremost a wife and mom.
Growing up, she shared her mom and grandmother’s love of reading. But where they leaned toward murder mysteries, Jessica was obsessed with all things romance.
When she’s not nose deep in her next manuscript, or binging on sit-coms, you can usually find her with her kindle in hand.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2019Edens first glimpse of Hope Valley has her captivated, she’s finally found a place to call home. After years of moving around and existing she knows this town is her forever home.
She didn’t come from the best of homes her childhood was dismal and with a family like hers it’s a wonder she survived. Her parent and her brother were drunks if it wasn’t booze it was drugs. They moved constantly never staying in any place to long because they’d either ripped someone off or owed money. There was no love, care or hugs in this environment. All Eden knew was that she didn’t want that to be her life.
Lincoln ex-veteran has established himself within the sleepy little town. His roots are solid running a successful security business along with his friends who also served.
When Eden first sees Lincoln at a street party her first thought is WOW he’s absolutely beautiful. And second no way would he ever look at someone like her. Third the sexy blonde that jumps into his arms cements that.
When their sleepy town is rocked by a series of break and enters Lincoln’s best friend who is also a detective on Hope Valleys force asks for his help Lincoln says yes. His help? Get close to Eden. He’s noticed his neighbor but thought nothing more of her. She’s not someone he’d ever go for.
He’s in for a surprise though, what Lincoln sees as plain everyone else sees the stunning beauty that Eden is. In Lincoln’s defence I suppose a steady stream of barbie look a likes would blind anyone.
The first initial meeting is hilarious and embarrassing but Linc’s dog breaks the ice.
She’s mortified and from that first meeting it’s time to makeover Eden. This woman does not need it but after years of being belittled and made to feel not good enough or worthy it has to take a toll on you.
Where Lincoln saw only plain and a woman who blushed and was a stammering mess when they’d meet he now sees the the true beauty that she is. Not just her looks but her heart. Eden truly is a beautiful soul. What started out as a favour to a friend has developed into something he thought he’d never have.
When her past comes back into her life in the way of her brother things go from bad to explosive. There’s no love their at all. The memories that still haunt her are there. But as always when you think your life is going perfectly well there’s always something to screw it up.
When it’s revealed about Lincoln’s initial interest in Eden is revealed she’s devastated. Her growing attraction to this man the feelings that she thought they were both developing for each other comes crashing down to earth. All her old insecurities come bubbling to the surface.
It’s going to take more than I’m sorry to fix this up.
I don’t think Edie realised the lengths that Lincoln would go to to get her back and he’s relentless. When she finally lets him back in it seems like she’ll finally get her happily ever after.
But when her life hangs in the balance due to her brother and his mistakes it’s going to take an expected turn but in a good way.
All I can say is Lincoln is your next book boyfriend! He’s swoon worthy and the way he speaks to Eden will have you reaching for a fan to cool down. The story flowed continually it didn’t pause. I loved the characters as in all of them. I can’t wait to see where this goes. A fantastic read.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2019I really enjoyed this book. I haven’t read much in this genre, generally preferring fantasy or scifi, but lately I have been looking for a change of pace. So I have read a handful of similar books. Strangely, a couple by another author were very similar, but this book was published first. The books feature a ranch with a security company employing ex-marines. And a girl with a deadbeat brother that stole a drive full of information from some dangerous men. The books were written very differently otherwise, but there are certainly some major similarities. It could be a case of popular tropes in a genre I am not very familiar with yet.
Anyway, I did enjoy this book and thought it was a fun read. It had good characters and built up a town and population that I would be interested in revisiting in the future. I couldn’t help but spend some time guessing who would eventually be paired up with who, and I want to know if I am correct.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 14, 2024I love the characters. This is a slow burn story. There is not much spice but lots of subplots. I wish it was longer because there are a lot of some unresolved issues.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2024This book was sooo good! The perfect mix of small town charm, sexy heat and mystery! One of my new faves!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2024He’s a total man ho and playing her. But, she’s totally dorky and loveable. I just can’t get past the fact that he has had sex with most of the women in that small town and that is all right with everyone. One of his women he spent 3 weeks “dating” got bent out of shape when he called her names, and Eden just jumped on the bandwagon. He did grow at the end and she did give him a hard time about his betrayal.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2020Eden Brenner never had a forever home. She fell in love with Hope Valley ever since she drove into town. She spent a lot of time decorating her house to make it feel like home and is very content with how her life turned out. When she’s getting to know her neighbours during a street get together she falls head over heels in love with Lincoln. He’s the most gorgeous man she’s ever seen but he’s way out of her league. Will she be able to catch his eye as well?
Lincoln has been hardened by the things he’s seen during the war. He has his fun with women but not one of them ever stood out for him. He has accepted the fact that a family and kids are not in the cards for him. That is until he gets to know Eden. What started out wrong could’ve never been more right. Will she be his happily ever after?
Eden is a pure and loving woman who hasn’t let her past harden her soul. She still sees the best in people. Eden is kind and caring and that’s exactly why everyone has a soft spot for her. Lincoln is a gentleman and I loved how he treated Eden from the start. He was a goner from the moment they danced and his dog is in love with Eden as well. Even though Eden is a sweet and loyal friend she isn’t a push-over and I loved that part of her. Their chemistry is off the charts and I couldn’t stop reading this heartfelt lovestory. This was the first book I read written by Jessica Prince but it certainly won’t be my last.
If you’re looking for an easy read on a lazy Sunday Out of my League would be a perfect choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice
I had this in my kindle unlimited library for so long. And I finally read it. Ain't I glad to do that!! It was absolutely wonderful. I love reading books featuring men in uniform services. And this book, or rather the series has them. I loved both Lincoln n Eden. Also loved the side characters and so looking forward to their books.

2.0 out of 5 stars The author never heard of consent
The story is pretty much what can be expected, the writing is quite entertaining. But the "hero" is constantly kissing, yanking and shoving the main female character not only without her consent but against her expressed wishes. Of course, in that moment she realizes how good looking he is and how she secretly wanted to be kissed by him the whole time. That is so 20 years ago!

4.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't put it down
This book was a great read and I couldn't put it down to the point I stayed up half the night to read it. This is a brilliant small town romance and this book was the perfect start giving to great lead characters and introducing enough side characters that you can't wait for their stories.
