I liked this story. The characters were likeable, and I would have liked to see some of them a bit more developed. I thought there could have been more story linking to the main character's past and present. Ending was somewhat abrupt. But all in all, a good read

A solid mystery that contains current crimes and flashbacks to the original crimes. The writing is fluid and engaging. The character development is on point. The foreshadowing and hints were a little too clear, but I did enjoy the story and attention to the impact the crimes had on people.

This was an easy, quick read. I love that I couldn’t fully predict who the culprit was in this book. We are presented with some interesting characters and given a look into the mind of a murderer. Another positive is that the story is focused on strong women, particularly the protagonist, Dom. The story jumps Around in time by 12 years, which is not a problem, but there were some negatives. I ran into problems with some key plot points. For example, the main character believes herself to be in love with someone she barely knows for the full 12 years. She is clearly aware she barely know him and in the 2nd half of the book she is a sophisticated, intelligent, educated woman, with years of experience in psychology, but she still believes herself to be in love with this relative stranger, The author gives very little info of Dom’s history so maybe she is too damaged emotionally to understand the relationship, but there’s no hint of that in the book, so it is hard to believe this is “real love.” There are also issues with editing, the most egregious of which takes place at the exact climax of the book. Just as everyone and everything hangs in the balance there is an editing blunder which makes it impossible to understand what’s going on. I was able to sort of piece it together after the fact, but that was very frustrating.

All in all, it’s an entertaining book and that’s what matters. I got it through prime reading, and I may have been annoyed if I’d paid for it, but I’m contemplating buying the next book in the series, so that must mean it was pretty good.

It started back in Dominique’s college days. She has high expectations of herself, a crush on her mentor, and a fun-loving friend. Until the nightmares. Murder and fear take the place of what should be some of the best times of their lives. All they can do is take care of each other and get through it. Grow through it.
Fast forward. Dominique has become a profiler with the FBI. Her friend is with the police. They meet up under the most horrible circumstances. Once again, the killer who was never caught years ago is back. Now they have the training, but will it be enough?
This isn’t a story to take lightly. We know there are such things as serial killers. Not many are women, though. Not the best way to break through the glass ceiling. It takes fighting through the fear and the nightmares of the past and trying to be smarter than someone who seems impossible to catch. This is the first time I have read a book, a thriller, that follows the thinking processes of a profiler. Somewhere toward the later chapters, you will also follow the mind of a budding killer. I was left with a couple of questions, but will not state them here as I’m sure the next in the series will attempt to answer them for me. I highly recommend this book and enjoyed the honest way the author presents their characters and their actions.

I really enjoyed reading "Grave Games" by Skylar Finn.
It's the first of it's series and it kept me interested throughout. There wasn't any great shocks or big twists, but it was a good read!.. So, I'm off to the next one in the series.

This author has words that flow and create a story you want to read. I would put her in the same category as Patricia Cornwall, James Patterson, etc. There is no stopping and starting, just a smoothly flowing story that sucks you in and keeps you entertained and intrigued. I will continue to follow this author and am very glad I found her.

Quite a few grammatical errors, but it’s what happens at the end that makes no sense.Presumably it’s Jeremy who kicks the item over, but that’s not made clear. If it isn’t, it makes even less sense. That really spoiled the whole thing for me.
