Can Lady Beatrice clear her new beau's name or will Detective Chief Inspector Richard Fitzwilliam's hunch land Seb behind bars for murder?

CHEF LUCA MAZZA DIES AFTER COLLAPSE AT FOOD SHOW ON THE KING’S PRIVATE ESTATE

Luca Mazza (38), who was taken ill during a food demonstration at the Fenn House Food and Wine Festival two days ago, is now known to have ingested poison. Lady Beatrice (36), the king’s niece, who is working on a refurbishment project at Fenn House with her business partner Perry Juke (34), is believed to be comforting Luca’s boss and close friend Sebastiano Marchetti (38), who she began dating last month.

Is he crazy? Why else would Detective Chief Inspector Richard Fitzwilliam suggest that Sebastiano poisoned Luca without any evidence? So now, with the help of her little dog Daisy and her best friends Perry and Simon, amateur sleuth Lady Beatrice will have to prove to Mr Know-it-all Fitzwilliam that Seb is innocent. But with so many people having access to the food preparation area at the show how will she find out who did murder Luca before Fitzwilliam lets his personal dislike get the better of him and arrests Seb?

A page-turning, contemporary, clean, British cozy whodunnit with a hint of humour that you wouldn’t be able to put down.

"A fantastically cosy mystery that I read in almost one sitting. The writing style was engaging and uplifting, the story is compelling and the characters are well developed and I loved them. The book had me laughing out loud at parts.A really enjoyable read." Instagram Reviewer

Hello. I’m Helen Golden. I write British contemporary cozy whodunnits with a hint of humour. I live in small village in Lincolnshire in the UK with my husband, my step-daughter, her two cats, our two dogs, sometimes my step-son, and our tortoise.

I used to work in senior management, but after my recent job came to a natural end I had the opportunity to follow my dreams and start writing. It's very early in my life as an author, but so far I'm loving it.

Welcome to the world of celebrity cooking and celebrity cooks mixed in with royalty who behaves like 'ordinary' folks.
My favourite character, Daisy, who was too cute for words, The other characters are fairly well drawn so I could form a picture of them in my mind's eye. I did have a problem figuring out Perry's s shoes though! If the book is read as a never, never land story, then it will be enjoyed. The mystery is not very taxing, so, the reader will find the solution quite easily.
    Go ahead and read.

This is another great mystery by Helen Golden. She is becoming one of my favorite authors. This book has a lot of surprises and suspects that keep you guessing throughout the entire story. When you think that Lady Bea and her friends are closing in on the culprit the plot takes a new turn. This series is so much fun and an amazing adventure. I can't wait to start the next book in the series.

This was my first book about Lady Beatrice, and I was surprised by her behavior. She is an adult and a royal, which means she should have known how to behave properly. Yet, sometimes, she acts like a child, which is irritating.
The story itself is intriguing and something worth reading. Poisoning, plenty of suspects, the motive is not obvious until the end, and even then, it is a bit stretched, but I didn't mind.
Daisy, the small white terrier, is a gem for us who love dogs in mystery books.

This was a cute cozy mystery set in a fictional world akin to England. The main character is Lady Bea, her dog, and her two friends. Bea has been dating a celebrity chef, Seb, but has been having some doubts about their relationship. And the fact that her dog doesn’t like him adds to her misgivings. But he’s a handsome Italian who adores her so what’s not to like? But there’s more to him than meets the eye and she needs to figure out where her emotions lie.

I have to say, I knew who the killer was almost from the get-go. So no surprise there. I actually kept expecting someone else to pop up as the murderer just to prove me wrong.

Still, it was an interesting read on a cold, wet day. And a nice break from the usual bakery/bookstore/craft store cozy.

Fantastic is the word to title this review. This is the 3rd book in the series and the story line is amazing with many twists and turns, which has you wondering 'who's done it' right to the end. I love the characters so much and feel I know them personally.
I have just started reading book 4 (the prequel) intended to be read in this order.

An interesting storyline but a bit drawn out at times. The death of a celebrity chef at first appears accidental but soon murder is suspected! Too many cooks (chefs) have the means and opportunity but the motive remains elusive. Definitely an interesting read.

Another excellent story from Helen Golden. Our heroine Lady Bea finds herself under the spotlight because of her friendship and blossoming romance with a celebrity chef. The whirlwind affair has Bea questioning his motives and her own commitment to the relationship. There is a lot of tension and intrigue when an unusual death occurs. Perry, Simon and Daisy, the dog, provide support for Bea as they wade through the means and motives of various characters! When Detective Fitzwilliam is brought in to investigate we notice a subtle change in his relationship with Bea, adding another dimension to the plot. The story has many twists and turns, and a gripping plot leaving us waiting impatiently for the next cosy mystery. Great stuff!
